In FALLUCKA #5 we meet Ed Templeton, artist and skater from Huntington Beach California; Our conversation is divided into three episodes, so if you like this one, scroll down for FALLUCKA #6 & 7. In this first episode I meet Ed Templeton and his wife Deanna Templeton for the first time. I have wanted to meet Ed for a long time and is a great admirer of his works. I was truly a bit nervous when I, together with my photographer Tobias Plass, picked them up both at a hotel in Copenhagen. I have invited them home to me as I have a little surprise that I would like to show Ed. This conversation takes place in my smashed Audi.

The conversation takes place in my kitchen and among other things I show him the pictures I have been taken, when I tried to be “Ed Templeton for a day”. He tells about how he himself takes pictures at Huntington Beach, without being discovered, and how he entered the art scene. Ed also finds out why he is invited home to me at Østerbro/Copenhagen and we talk about what I wanted to show him and Deanna.

Part 3 of Ed Templeton episodes - please see FALLUCKA #5 & 6 for the previous ones. The reason Ed Templeton was in Copenhagen was that he was here to make a book signing on his latest book Tangentially Parenthetical. We talk about selected artworks in the book as well as the idea behind the book. We talk about the people in the book and the situations the pictures are taken in. We also talk about buying art with the heart vs as an investment, and why the selected works in the book speak to him. We talk about skateboarding and a completely unplanned talk of his crash in Lucerne in Switzerland in 2000 during The Grand Prix of skateboarding .
